Google User Data

Swipe Name uses Google Sign-In to provide a secure and convenient authentication experience. This section specifically addresses our handling of Google user data in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Data Accessed from Google

When you sign in with Google, we access the following information from your Google account:

  • Email Address: Your primary Google email address, used as your unique account identifier
  • Display Name: Your name as it appears on your Google account, used to personalize your experience
  • Profile Picture: Your Google profile photo URL, used to display your avatar within the app

How We Use Google User Data

We use the Google user data we access strictly for the following purposes:

  • Account Creation & Authentication: Your email address is used to create and identify your Swipe Name account, enabling secure sign-in
  • Personalization: Your display name is shown within the app to create a personalized experience
  • Profile Display: Your profile picture is displayed in the app interface for visual identification
  • Partner Matching: Your email may be used to connect you with your partner when they join your partnership using your invite code

Data Storage & Security

Your Google user data is securely stored in our database hosted on Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. We do not store your Google password or any Google authentication tokens beyond the session.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your Google user data to third parties. Your Google data is only shared with your designated partner within the app (display name only) to facilitate the partner matching feature. We do not use your Google user data for advertising purposes.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your Google user data is retained for as long as you maintain an active Swipe Name account. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, all your Google user data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile picture
  • Preferences: Your baby name preferences including gender preferences and other filtering options
  • Swipe Data: Your likes, passes, and super-likes on baby names

  • With Your Partner: Your display name and matched names are shared with your connected partner
  • Service Providers: We use Supabase for data storage and authentication, and Vercel for hosting

This includes encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, and secure authentication practices.
